About MJUSD
The Marysville Joint Unified School District (MJUSD) serves approximately 10,000 students at 23 schools. The district spans roughly 75 miles and includes school communities throughout Yuba County including the areas of Olivehurst, Linda, and downtown Marysville, in addition to the communities of Loma Rica, Yuba Feather and Dobbins, which are located in the foothills. Our district also serves about 500 students through our State Preschool Program each year. Several of our schools have been recognized as a “Distinguished School” from the California Department of Education for their outstanding education programs and practices.
Known as “The Gateway to the Gold Fields,” Marysville is a city filled with a rich and diverse history that is reflected in our community and student population. Our students and staff come from many diverse cultures and ethnic backgrounds, and more than seven languages are spoken among the families that we serve. MJUSD was officially unified in 1966, but our district has operated schools in the area for more than 160 years.
MJUSD serves its diverse community through multiple programs, supportive environments and innovative opportunities for student learning. MJUSD promotes individual student excellence, invites collaboration and discovery, and challenges students to take responsibility as members of a diverse, global community.
MJUSD is committed to educational excellence, and this commitment is reflected in the achievements made by its students, faculty, staff, and leadership each school year. Highly qualified, dedicated, and professional, the District’s teaching staff is exceptional. With various professional development opportunities, conferences, staff development workshops, and collaboration time, the Marysville Joint Unified staff work diligently to prepare students for college and career.

Strategic Plan
During the 2021-2022 school year, the Marysville Joint Unified School District started its strategic planning process. A Strategic Plan is a high-level document that outlines an organization’s direction and strategically prioritizes allocation of resources to reach an established set of measurable goals. MJUSD’s Strategic Plan will be presented to the Board for adoption in June 2022 and will lay out a roadmap for the next three school years, from July 2022 to June 2025.
